How do I get quote
Go to ‘Get a Quote’, or
click here and complete steps 1 to 3 of the quote & purchase process. The step number is highlighted on the top right of the screen.
Step 1 - specify the type of cover required (policy
details), the period for which cover is required (dates of holiday) and the
number and ages of travellers to be covered (ages of travellers at start date) .
Once confirmed, details of cover available will be displayed.
Step 2 – review and select the standard and optional cover
required. Once selected, the traveller details screen will be displayed.
Step 3 – complete traveller details. For the main traveller
, this includes contact details (phone, mobile, email & address) as well basic
personal details (title, name and DOB). Please ensure the number of travellers
and dates of birth match the age of travellers specified at step 1. The quote
engine automatically validates the data and will only confirm the quote if the
traveller numbers and age data are consistent with data input in step1.
Once the traveller details have been input and validated, a quote summary
will be displayed on screen, and an email sent to the email address given for
the main traveller, confirming the quote number, policy type (single or annual)
and premium quoted inclusive of IPT. The detailed quote can be downloaded in pdf
format by clicking on ‘Download Quote’ on right hand side of the quote summary
screen.
Quotes are valid for 14 days or until the specified start date, whichever is earlier
How do I retrieve a quote
Go to ‘Retrieve a Quote’, or
click here and login using the main traveller’s email address and quote number. Alternatively click on the ‘Buy Now’ button on the quote email. Both will take you to the quote summary screen provided that the quote is still valid
How do I amend a quote
Click on ‘ Amend a Quote’ on the quote summary screen. You will then be taken through the steps 1 to 3 of the quote process again , allowing you to reselect the cover required and change traveller details as necessary. Once the detail has been amended and reconfirmed , the quote details will be updated, retaining the same quote number.
How do I purchase a policy
Proceed with the current quote, or retrieve an existing quote, bringing up the quote summary on screen, and complete step 4 of the quote & purchase process
Step 4 - move down the page to the payment section under the quote summary and confirm the three important declarations by ‘ticking’ the relevant boxes; then provide payment card and card holder details; and finally click on ‘Purchase’ button at the bottom of the page. Once the payment card has been validated, a message will be displayed on screen confirming payment has been accepted , and an email sent to the email address given for the main traveller, confirming the policy number, date of policy issue and amount paid.
The card types accepted include Mastercard , Maestro, Solo, Visa (debit & credit), Visa Delta and Visa Electron.
A policy cannot be purchased without making the th ree important declarations. In summary , by ticking the declarations , you are confirm ing that you are a full time resident in the UK , you acknowledge that pre-existing medical conditions are not covered the policy to be issued , and you confirm that you have read and understood the policy terms and conditions
How do I get my policy documentation
Once payment has been accepted, complete step 5 of the quote & purchase process by downloading the policy documentation. Click on ‘Download Policy Documents’ after specifying where you heard about Direct2insure on the drop down menu. Alternatively, click on ‘Get Documents’ on the policy email. Both will take you to the policy documents download area. Three documents should be downloaded: the insurance certificate, the key facts documents and the policy wording.
To view and download any existing policies go to ‘Existing Policies’ , or
click here , and login using the main traveller’s email address and an existing policy number. Then, select a policy and click on ‘Get Docs’ in the final column
Can I obtain cover for a pre-existing medical condition
Direct2insure does not have the ability to cover any pre-existing medical conditions. All pre-existing medical conditions are EXCLUDED under both the Essential and Comprehensive policies.
How do I cancel an existing policy
A policy can be cancelled up to 14 days after purchase. To cancel a policy go to ‘Existing Policies’, or click here, and login using the main traveller’s email address and the policy number. Select the policy to be cancelled by clicking in the amend column for that policy and then select the ‘Cancel your policy ’ option and follow instructions. We can only refund the premium to the payment card used for the original payment.
How do I amend an existing policy
A number of amendments cam be made on line including updating the main traveller’s contact details, changing the start date for a single trip policy and adding dependants to family policies. To make one or more of these changes, go to ‘Existing Policies’, or click here, and login using the main traveller’s email address and the policy number. Select the policy to be amended by clicking the in the amend column for that policy and then the select the relevant amendment option and follow instructions.
