Am I covered for any hazardous activities? (+)
Our policies do not cover for hazardous activities however skiing can be covered are covered at an additional premium under the Winter Sports policy on Comprehensive Policies only
Does Direct2insure cover for any pre-existing medical conditions? (+)
No Direct2insurer does NOT cover pre-existing medical conditions on any of its policies.
Am I covered for medical conditions whilst pregnant? (+)
Our policy will cover pregnancy up to 26 weeks, if you are over this then the policy will not cover you for medical conditions
The policy refers to an excess, what is this? (+)
An excess is the amount that you are liable to pay in the event of claim and is normally on a per person basis, details of this are shown in the policy documentations. You can reduce the excess to Nil by paying an additional premium
Does my winter sports cover allow me to partake in off piste skiing? (+)
No your policy does not cover for off piste skiing
What is the maximum age you will cover? (+)
55 years on the Essentials policy and 65 years on the Comprehensive policy
What is the maximum amount of days I can travel for on an annual policy? (+)
31 days on a Comprehensive Travel Policy or 21 days on the Essentials Travel Policy
Does my policy automatically cover me for winter sports / golf ? (+)
No it does not; you will only be covered if you pay the appropriate additional premium
Does my policy cover me for UK holidays? (+)
Yes as long as you have pre-booked at least two nights accommodation
If I live separately from my partner can we have a couple rates? (+)
No, to qualify for a couple rate both parties being insured must reside at the same address
Are the benefits in the policy per person? (+)
Yes all the benefits are on a per person basis
When does the delayed baggage come into force? (+)
Delayed baggage benefit will come into force after an initial XX hours and is payable at £XX for the period and subsequent periods up the amount show in the policy documentation
When does the delayed travel come into force? (+)
Delayed travel benefit will come into force after an initial XX hours and is payable at £XX for the period and subsequent periods up the amount show in the policy documentation
Do I have to be a UK resident? (+)
Yes you must reside full time in the UK and be registered with a GP in the UK
Who is covered under the family policy? (+)
Parents or Grandparents and all dependant children for whom they are legal guardians aged under the age of 18 in full time education when travelling with an insured adult.
Can I travel for medical treatment on this policy? (+)
No, this policy does not cover you if you are travelling for medical treatment in another country
What happens if I am planning to visit more than one country? (+)
You must purchase a policy that covers you for the whole of your journey e.g. if you are travelling to Europe and then to the Middle East you should have a policy that covers for the Middle East and not just Europe
Can children be insured if they are travelling alone? (+)
Children under the age of 18 can travel independently if they have purchased a child policy and are in full time education
I have already left the UK and am already travelling can I upgrade / extend or purchase a policy? (+)
No you may not. Your policy can not be extended, upgraded or purchased when you are outside of the UK and already travelling
Can I cancel my policy after I have purchased it? (+)
Yes, you have the ability to cancel your policy as long as it is within 14 days of the purchase date by going to the Existing Policy section of this website
